The Cabbages and Condoms Restaurant at Chiang Rai is one of PDA's public-benefit activities. Income from this restaurant is used to support PDA's development activities. C&C in Chiang Rai is one of the most popular restaurants due to its excellent service, cozy environment and convenient location.

You may wonder how "C&C" got its peculiar name. C&C is the Population and Community Development Association's (PDA) public-benefit restaurant used to promote family planning and HIV/AIDS prevention in Thailand. PDA pioneered in the concept of community-based family planning service delivery. At the peak of our family planning promotion work, we had over 16,000 volunteers through out the country.

Through our family planning promotion activities, we have contributed tremendously to lowering the average size of Thai families. The number of children per family decreased from 7 in 1974 to 2 at present.

Our success in bringing family planning services to the community has earned us world-wide recognition. C&C now focuses its attention to making condoms as easy to get as cabbages. And so the name Cabbages and Condoms (C&C). "Our Food is Guaranteed not to Cause Pregnancy"
